The project involves the rehabilitation of Paseo de Diego and De Diego Street, from Km 0.0 to Km 0.7, following the Puerto Rico Complete Streets Plan & Design Guidelines to enhance access for pedestrians and cyclists. Key improvements include pavement rehabilitation, sidewalk widening, pedestrian crossings, speed tables for safety, and road resurfacing. The project also includes cleaning and rehabilitating pedestrian areas, removing obstacles, incidental debris removal, and installing urban furniture like benches, bicycle racks, and fixed trash containers. Signage systems will be improved, and new vandal-resistant LED lighting will be installed along with necessary pole replacements. Additionally, tree pruning, planting, and reforestation will be conducted in areas impacted by Hurricane Maria, aligning with the overall street design.
