The project focuses on rehabilitating a 6.5-kilometer section of PR-917, starting at the intersection with PR-183 at the roundabout, continuing south, and ending at kilometer 7.0. This road is primarily used by residents of adjacent areas and serves as a key access point to major roads such as PR-605, PR-9921, and highway PR-30. Planned improvements include cold milling at variable depths between 1.125 and 4 inches, followed by a new pavement inlay across the entire stretch. For enhanced road safety, 2,128 linear meters of new barrier devices will be installed. The project will also implement new pavement markings and raised reflective markers in accordance with MUTCD (2009) and PRHTA standards. Approximately 45% of the traffic signs will be replaced, and upgrades will be made to the signage, pavement markings, and traffic signals at intersections. These design measures aim to improve safety, visibility, and overall traffic flow.
