Architectural Designer / Project Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our San Juan, PR office is looking to add a team member with the motivation and experience to tackle architectural design and project management tasks in all phases during project development and completion.

The ideal candidate is growth-oriented and communicates well with coworkers, consultants, and clients. The job position requires a professional degree and PR license in architecture. Other qualities we look for are self-driven, a passion for sustainability, and the ability to manage a project independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated work experience of at least ten years is also required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

● Responsible for client communication from start of design to completion of construction.

● Manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity in varying stages of design, bidding, and construction phases

● Primary point of accountability for progress of specific architectural projects as assigned. Leads architectural team for those projects.

● Responsible for quality and completeness of drawings and specifications.

● Reviews work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed and that quality is acceptable.

● Responsible for meeting design goals within agreed upon architectural budgets and construction budgets.

● Reviews and approves budget estimates and staffing assignment schedules on each project.

● Coordinates the utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the project, as well as the assignment of personnel from other technical support groups within the company.

● Perform various procurement activities including bid package development, solicitation of quotations, Estimates and quotes reviews.

● Review and approve monthly invoicing and financial controls on projects

● Travel to client locations for meetings and site visits

REQUIREMENTS

● Professional degree in Architecture

● Registered Architect (Licensed)

● 10 years of working experience (minimum)

● Proficient in Autodesk Autocad or Revit, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), MS Project and the ability to learn and use new software

● Knowledge and familiarity with project scheduling and estimating preferred.
